The short-lived Star Theatre opened its doors on September 29, 1949 with Bing Crosby in “Top O' The Morning” along with an unnamed Popeye cartoon and a Speaking of Animals short.

It was closed in 1953 but continued to operate as a special events theatre for another few years.
