This theatre was built as a replacement for a theatre of the same name (It has its own page on Cinema Treasures). The predecessor was destroyed in a March 1928 fire which laid waste to uptown Crisfield, destroying 60 businesses and some homes.
Rather bland and boxy, the replacement structure is a broad two-story brick building with three storefronts, the southernmost of which was likely the theatre entrance. What I believe to be the auditorium is quite tall for a smaller theatre, and is located along 5th Street.
Although a Lyric Theatre appears in the Yearbooks through the 1930’s, it is never listed with a seating capacity until about 1950. Local sources indicate it may have operated 1931-1952. The rear of the northern section is very deep, but only one story, and this was likely not the theatre. The 1931 and 1940’s maps would confirm, but they are not available online.
The building is an antique store, but the southern storefront is used by a local consulting firm.

The Kilduff’s page for the Lyrics (old and new) has a few newspaper ads from 1939, and the house operated as the New Lyric Theatre at that time. Sadly, no pictures of the new building, only the old one.
