The Pavilion Picture House was opened in 1928 in a conversion of an old warehouse. It was independently operated by the Pavilion Picture House (Greenock) Ltd. It was initially equipped with a British Acoustic (BA) sound system, which by 1937 had been replaced with a RCA sound system. The proscenium was 23 feet wide. In the mid-1950’s it was equipped with CinemaScope and the proscenium was widened to 31 feet. The sound system was replaced by a BTH (British Thomson-Houston) sound system. The Pavilion Picture House was closed in May 1959.

It has since been demolished.
