Located in the city centre, close to the Palace Park. The Kunstnernes Hus was opened in 1932 as an art gallery specialising in contemporary art. It was designed in a Moderne style by architects Gudolf Blakstad & Herman Munthe-Kaas.
In November 2016 a cinema was constructed within the building to the plans of architectural firm Atelier Oslo. Seating for 85 patrons is provided on long benches on a stepped floor. The screen is the size on an entire wall.
