The South building’s first theater, known as the Fuse Shoeiza, opened its doors in September 1933. This was followed by a second theater called the Higashi Osaka Theater in December 1949 afterward. As of 1955, Fuse City had a grand total of 13 theaters, including the two in the South building.

On February 1, 1967, Fuse City merged with Kawachi City and Hiraoka City merged with Higashiosaka City. And as a result of this, the number of theaters expanded to 20 by 1969. During the latter half of the 1970s, both the Shoeiza and the Higashi Osaka theaters in the South building were twinned, eventually becoming a quad in total for the South building.

Shortly after the former Lionza in the North building was renovated into a 7-screen multiplex in December 1997, both theaters in the South building received renovation. Unfortunately on June 29, 2001, two of its screens (the Fuse Togeki) closed for the final time, leaving the Shoeiza theaters the only ones operating. On that same day, a third screen was added. This lasted for another nine years and several months until ending its life on September 5, 2010 after the building was occupied by Lawson, which built its Higashi-Osaka Ashio 1-Chome store afterward.
