Theater

This early theater appears on the 1911 map. It was located in the northern half of a single story brick commercial building. The original building was possibly a two story structure built between 1889 and 1896. It still appears on the 1901 map with a grocery at this address. There may have been a fire that necessitated the remodeling or replacement of that structure. The footprint is identical.

In any case, this theater was not a success, and is not listed in the 1914-15 AMPD. The 1924 map shows a store here. This building today is one of the few structures in a rather squalid downtown receiving any care, and has housed an insurance agency for some time.
