The Welcome Theatre was advertised in the in Woodland Daily Democrat from 1920 to 1933.

Sanborn Maps 1907 show the building, located next to the Hershey Hotel, as a skating rink and by 1921 moving pictures with a small confectionary shop on the corner of the building.

In June 1923 a $50,000 fire, as covered in the Woodland Daily Democrat, hit Woodland. $4,000 in damages were taken by the theatre, insured for one-fourth. J.A. Grace, owner, had his residence next to the theater. Another fire on September 17, 1938, finished what was called the ‘old theatre building’ for good.

The Welcome Theatre is listed in Film Daily Year Book 1928-1931 with 250 seats and from 1933-1946, as closed.
