The Combo Theatre located right next to the Fort Benton Drive-In is a 168-seat indoor single-screener that was located right next to the drive-in screen (It has its own page on Cinema Treasures). The theater first had a pre-grand opening on November 16, 1967 with Walt Disney’s “The Adventures of Bullwhip Griffin”, and had its official grand opening on five days later on November 21, 1967 with “Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines”. The theater also housed a cafe.

Construction of the theater started in late-July 1967 with an estimate $70,000. Since then, construction has moved ahead without many hitches, but one of the more interesting portions of the work is the moving of the drive-in screen, which was done on October 23 of that same year.

This was a short-lived theater unfortunately. After its showing of “The Four Musketeers” on the indoor screen on June 23, 1975, both the Combo Theater and the Combo Drive-In closed their doors, with the former theatre building being converted into a sheet metal manufacturing business right afterward.
