Tentelino Theatres opened Alexandria’s Midway Mall Cinemas with three screens in 1990 on site of the old Algon Ballroom. On January 25, 1991, two more screens were added and expanded to five screens. This move caused the replacement of two other theaters, the Andria Twin Theatre (as a movie theater which still operates today as the Alexandria Area Arts Association Theatre) and the Cinema III at Viking Plaza Mall, both also operated by Tentelino at the time.
It expanded in the late-1990’s to seven screens. CEC Theatres would later take the job over who later added two more screens, becoming a 9-screen multiplex.

This was also the last movie theater ever to be operated by Tentelino Theatres, which unfortunately tossed the job over to CEC Theatres on November 1, 2016.
