Aeon Cinema Toki

The Aeon Cinema Toki was built on the site of a Sports Authority (now Mega Sports) which closed during the final days of June 2024, and opened its doors on April 19, 2025 featuring six screens and 414 seats. All of the auditoriums have ranging capacities of 28-92, and features Dolby Atmos, laser projection, and XpanD.

Prior to the theater’s opening, the Tono area was once left without a movie theater since the Tajima Cinema 1 & 2 closed in January 2004 after almost 80 years of operation (and almost 14 years as a twin). When plans for the Aeon Mall were first made, local residents were eager to have a movie theater, but as of 2015, it was already planned. It however, did plan to prepare a 2022 opening but that idea was immediately scrapped and thrown in the trash.
