The 12-store Pierre Moran Shopping Center had opened theatre-less in 1960. Ten years later, in 1970, a decision was made to enclose the strip as the Pierre Moran Mall. It opened on July 24, 1971 anchored by a W.T. Grant’s store, a Kroger store, a Sears store, Guy L. Perry 5 and 10 store and a forthcoming, single-screen cinema as an outparcel near Sears.

That theatre turned out to be Miller Theatre’s Holiday Theatre launching on a 20-year lease July 14, 1972 with “What’s Up, Doc?” GKC took on the Cinema 1, Encore Park, Concord and Holiday. The first theatre to go was Cinema 1 in 1991. GKC closed here on September 10, 1992. The spaces were immediately converted for retail purposes. The Pierre Moran was renamed as Woodland Crossing in 2006 trying to remain relevant.
