T & D Jr. Enterprises built the Red Bluff Auto Movie in 1950 at a cost of about $75,000. It opened on August 17 that year with the double feature of “County Fair” and “Return of the Frontiersman”.
Although the Corning Daily Observer wrote that the Red Bluff held 414 cars, the 1955-56 Theatre Catalog said its capacity was 350. It advertised inconsistently as the Red Bluff Auto Movie and the Red Bluff Drive-In “On Airport Road between 99W and So. Jackson”.
A 1958 aerial photo showed a drive-in east of the airport. It was still intact in 1966, but its screen was gone by 1969. An elementary school occupies the site today.
