The Main Street Theatre opened during the mid-1980’s as a single-screener and operated into the 1990’s. Unfortunately both opening and closing dates remains unconfirmed at this time.

I cannot confirm if the Main Street Theatre served as a backup theater for the nearby Jasper Theatre or as a replacement.
I believe that the correct address for the Main Street Theatre was 61 Main Street per the image I have uploaded. If one Googles the 188 south address it is a rural area.
There is a new theatre being built in Jasper. The Ampli. It is controversial because of government funding.

Its really weird because newspaper articles from 1990 and 1991 says that it was located on 188 South Main. I’m very sure they changed the address numbers years later.
Also, the Ampli is now known as Tater Patch Players. There’s not a lot of details about it, but it’ll have its own CT page once I find more information about it.
