Palace Theatre

This theater was constructed sometime between 1905 and 1911. It was a brick building of two stories, with the auditorium one story at the rear, constructed in local stone. At least for a few years, a music school was located upstairs.

The theatre remained in operation through 1929, but appears not to have made the transition to sound, and does not appear in the 1930 Yearbook. The building was either heavily remodeled or demolished by 1931 to be replaced by the current retail structure.
