Located in the southeast Berlin district of Lichtenberg, adjacent to Karlshorst S-Bahn railway station. The Capitol Karlshorst was opened in 1929 and was a 1928 project of architect Fritz Wilms which was taken over by architect Heinrich Moller. In 1932 it was renamed Favorit-Lichtspiele operating until 1948. In 1957 it was reopened as the Filmtheater Vorwarts. It was closed in April 1990.

The building remained unused until at least 1995. In recent years it has been demolished and an apartment block with retail and a supermarket at ground level has been built on the site.
