Electric Theatre

This theater appears as the ‘Theatorium’ on the 1912 Sanborn. I’m not sure if that was the initial name, or possibly some sort of designation. It was located in an old two story wooden building which dated to before 1887, and had been a wagon workshop.

In addition to motion pictures, there was a stage at the rear, although it would have been quite small. This building is almost certainly the Electric Theatre listed in the 1914-15 AMPD. It had closed by 1921, when a grocery is shown here.

Later history is unclear, but the building was definitely gone by 1995, when a large and rather clumsy-looking drugstore (now county offices) was built here.
