The Jacaranda Plaza Twins was opened by Florida West Amusements on October 15, 1976 with “The Shootist” in Screen 1 and the double feature of “Swashbuckler” and “The Legend Of Bigfoot” in Screen 2. Cobb Theatres would later take over the theater in June 1978.
The Jacaranda I & II lasted until 1990, when both screens closed separately. One of the screens closed on October 11, 1990, but one screen remained open to show that year’s smash “Ghost”, and its final feature, “Gone With The Wind”, before closing on November 29, 1990.
