Alpenfilmtheater

The Alpenfilmtheater opened its doors on July 8, 1937 as a 432-seat single-screener after a whole year of construction. The original auditorium featured a combination of plywood wall paneling and acoustic panels for the ceiling. The Nebel family operated the theatre throughout much of its golden age until 1977, when it was taken over by Hannelore Wiedemann who operated the theatre for 20 more years, when it was taken over by its current operators, the Doppler family.

It was twinned by the 1980’s, and had a first set of extensions in 1992. It was quadrupled in 2002 following a second set of extensions.
