Located in the west city centre district of Tiergarten. The Welt-Kino was opened in 1919 and was designed by architect Harry Blumann. It was badly damaged by Allied bombs in 1943. Repairs were carried out and it reopened in 1949/1950. Architect Erhard Klocking drew plans for a complete overhaul of the building in 1957. It was closed in 1966.

It became the Berliner Kammerspiele which was still open in 1995. (not to be confused with the current Berlinerkamerspiele in the Deutsches Theatre).
