In the early-1930’s it was equipped with a British Thomson-Houston(BTH) sound system and had been renamed Palace Cinema. By 1944 it was operated by W,G. Stansfield. It was still open in 1958. It had gone from listings by 1963 but opened and closed several times, once becoming a live theatre. This was followed by bingo in the early-1960’s, then went back to cinema use for a short while, then back to Bingo. It was last used as a snooker club.
The former cinema has been demolished, butsince at least 2008 a new small building on the site is in use as a snooker club.
