The Dayton Theatre was a post-World War II cinema in downtown Dayton. It was built in 1948 by postmaster Floyd Willert. The 325-seat venue had Western Electric sound, cry room, a knotty pine and glass brick front and pastel tone brown and green interior colors. The Dayton Theatre opened on October 12, 1948 with June Haver in “Scudda Hoo! Scudda Hay!”
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ratliff of Spokane took over the operation a year later as the renamed Daytona Theatre operating it to 1967/8. The Daytona Theatre was sold becoming the Robles Theatre in the 1970’s. It ended service in 1978 at the termination of a 30-year leasing agreement. It was retrofitted for a Catholic church.
