Theater

This theater appears on the 1909 Sanborn, located in an old 4 story brick structure which had a mansard or Second Empire roof. This theater does not seem to be listed in the 1914-15 AMPD.

Located on what was then Franklin Ave, this building, and the entire neighborhood, was lost many years ago. This street is a bleak wasteland of huge parking lots and large ugly modern warehouse/industrial buildings. This corner has a cheap modern office building and parking lot.

That’s The Alcazar turned Loretta Theatre. It was a photo studio and then transformed to the Alcazar Theater beginning on October 30, 1909. It became the Loretta Theatre until early 1914. In April of 1914, the theater was removed and it became a drug store.
