The Star Theatre opened its doors on December 21, 1908 by original proprietor Jacob Yonnkins, and was located in the J.T. Bell storeroom on the corner of Philadelphia Street and N. 7th Street, featuring a mix of motion pictures and vaudeville on a stage complete with four sets of special scenery, a drop curtain, and three dressing rooms.
One of its original projectors during its history is a Powers No. 6 Cameragraph projector, which was installed in August 1911. Unfortunately, the Star Theatre lasted no more than six years before closing on April 17, 1915.
It has been demolished. In 2026 a building on the site houses a Hobbyspeed store.
