Valley Drive-In 5934 Evangeline Trail, Cambridge, NS B0P 1G0

Built in 1951, the Valley Drive-In fell into disrepair in the late ’90s before shutting down. The Lions Club had already done some fundraising at the drive-in when it was running, so during the two seasons when it was closed the municipality allowed them to continue.

“We said, ‘If you give it to us we’ll fix it up and run it as a fundraiser and employ some local youth,’ and they agreed,” Longmire says.

The Lions Club purchased a projector and for the past 12 years has leased the property from the municipality “for a token price,” Longmire says.
