I remember one night the cars were backed up to the entrance and an employee telling us which shows were sold out. Very popular theatre in the 70s.

The ads for MEDITERRANEAN HOLIDAY at the Continental do not mention Cinerama. It might have been a 35mm print or they just didn’t want to pay royalties to Cinerama.

No mention on Cinerama in the ads for It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. It should be removed from this list. They probably showed a 35mm print.

Someone asked why they masked the screen for The Sound of Music. Because of the contract with Cinerama Inc. plus, it was better for the theatre as they didn’t have to pay any fees to them! Also, they would of had to stretch the 2.2 image to fit the 2.76 AR screen.

I think it was this theatre that I saw Good Morning Vietnam. The seats and walls were all in green. Plus it had a balcony that wrapped around to the side walls. Nobody was sitting on the side balcony as it was not very deep and maybe didn’t have any seats. Was it this theatre?

I remember seeing Days of Heaven in 70mm 6-track sound and you had to take an escalator to get up to theatre. Was it this one or were there other theatres that had an escalator?

Did the Valley ever show Windjammer in Cinemiracle on their TODD-AO curved screen back in the late 50’s? I can’t find it looking through old newspapers.

Strange that I see articles in July 1960 that also mention its going to be razed in the fall 1960.

Hey veyoung52, it was called the Warren theatre in 1960 when Windjammer played there in Atlantic City. It was supposed to start July 29, 1960. In the same month I also see articles about it being demolished in the fall 1960.
