Located in Forest Hall, to the outer north of Newcastle upon Tyne. The New Picture House was a corrugated iron structure. It was opened in 1910. Operated by the independent Stanhope Cinema Co. of Newcastle upon Tyne.

A heavy fall of snow in February 1941, caused the roof to collapse. Repairs could have been made, as the New Picture House was listed in the 1944 edition of Kinematograph Yearbook as open. In the 1947 edition of Kine Yearbook, it was listed as (Closed). Today Harts DIY hardware store stands on the site.
