Cinema

Located in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire to the north of Greater London. The Cinema was opened on 15th March 1913. All seating was on a single sloping floor. It operated with a rear projection system, having the projection box behind the screen.

In around 1926, it was taken over by the Shipman & King circuit. The Cinema was closed in early-1930, when Shipman & King opened their new Pavilion Cinema in the town centre.

The building was given a new frontage in the autumn of 1949, and was converted into a boys club, known as the Robert Gilling Hall. It continues in this use today, and is the headquarters of the Hoddesdon Boxing Club.
