  1. Martini opened the 1,000-seat Booker-T Theater on March 2, 1948, and the Galveston Daily News noted that it was “Believed to be the finest movie theater for Negroes in Texas".

The Booker-T Theater closed on September 2, 1968, with “The Tami Show” and “The TNT Show", which featured about every popular musician from the mid-1960’s.

In December of 1972 notices from a wrecking company was published in the Daily News offering for sale chairs, neon lights, the air conditioner and iron beams.
