Savoy Theater

Started in 1914 as Brasserie-Concert-Cinéma in the former Woolweverchapel, the cinema was constructed as a box inside the old chapel. The theater was temporarily closed in 1922 and reopened in December 1922. Concerts were also held until 1928. The Ghent COO Was the owner of the building. Was renamed Savoy Theater in 1934.

The cinema closed on 16th June 1982, reopened in October and definitely went out of business after a failure in 1983.

It is now a McGregor clothing shop, the interior was ripped out to reveal the old chapel, but the building kept it’s original form and exterior.
