Colgate Theatre

The Colgate Theatre was one of three movie theatres along Dundalk Avenue, and opened December 17, 1948. It survived as a movie theatre until the fall of 1953, and appears to be in good condition today, although the graffiti artists have started there work on the walls. For many years a $3,000 Jackpot sign ws sported on the Colgate’s marquee. The Colgate Theatre was used for boxing matches, and then became a bingo hall. By 2016 this had closed and the building was ‘For Lease’.
