Virginia Beach Drive-In

The Virginia Beach Drive-In is Virginia Beach’s first drive-in theatre. It opened in 1950. It was operated by Allen Sobel and had a capacity for 450-cars. By 1954 it had increased its capacity to 474-cars. By 1955 it had been taken over by Fabian Theaters Ct.

The Virginia Beach Drive-In closed in 1972 and was demolished later in the 1970’s.

Nowadays, multiple stores and a small strip mall sit at the former drive-in’s site, including a Kroger with Redbox, Whole Foods, Total Wine and More, and a Panda Express.
