The 5-screen futuristic themed Eng Wah Suntec opened its doors on 26th November 1998, marking its return to the city after closing its twin cinema at the neighbouring Marina Square in February that year.
In early-2011, it was given a facelift and was rebranded as WE Cinemas Suntec City, with the lobby being refreshed with a contemporary look and new seats in the halls.
It was closed in February 2013, as part of a business decision by the cinema chain. Following major mall-wide renovations, the premises was then taken over by Golden Village as its flagship location, which opened in October 2014 with 11 screens.
