The 411 Drive-In opened on June 2, 1953 with Audie Murphy in “Column South”. The drive-in was built by Glover A. Johnson and his son Emory on a 30-year lease at the confluence of U.S. Route 411 and County Road 265 in Cherokee County. Glover A. Johnson died in June of 1983 and Emory decided to closed the drive-in later that year.
In 2001 a renovated 411 Drive-In re-opened. It is now operated by Rex and Carl Johnson who are the sons of Emory Johnson. This drive-in has a capacity for 250 cars. A second screen was added in 2008.
