The Welland Drive-In opened on April 14, 1951 with Rod Cameron in “Panhandle”. W. B. Freedman owned the drive-in and, in about 1975, Canadian Odeon Theatres took over its operation. The Welland Drive-In was closed on July 8, 1983 with Robert Hays in “Airplane II: The Sequel” & Eddie Murphy in “Trading Places”.

Approximate address is currently Cottonwood Crescent, Welland.

Correction: This opened on April 14, 1951 with Rod Cameron in “Panhandle” along with the Our Gang classic “Birthday Blues” and an unnamed cartoon. It was closed by Canadian Odeon on July 8, 1983 with “Airplane II” and “Trading Places”.
