Part of General Cinema’s aggressive South Florida expansion in the late-1980’s, the Deerfield Mall 8 opened January 27, 1989 and followed the chain’s standard blueprint of the time: predominantly red-and-black-decor, with stereo surround sound in most auditoriums.
Closed suddenly in 2000 along with GCC’s other Florida locations, the theater sat idle for several years until Sunrise Cinemas assumed management. In 2010, it was operated by Frank Theatres. On January 1, 2015 it was taken over by Cinepolis and was renamed Cinepolis Deerfield Beach. By 2022 it was operated by VIP Cinemas. It was closed on January 18, 2024. It reopened in March 2026 by Paragon Entertainment Corp.

Extensive lobby remodeling, upgraded seating, and expanded food/beverage menus were introduced toward the end of Sunrise Cinemas' management.
Now a Cinepolis Theatre, run by the Mexican chain.
The preopening celebration started on January 20th, 1989 and official opening on the 27th. Grand opening ad in the photo section.
This is now operated by VIP Cinemas.
This theater is now closed. Phone recording says they are closed. It is no longer listed on VIP Cinemas website, and the last time we received showtimes was in late November 2023.
