Mecca Theatre

Ridley Green opened the Mecca Theatre in the 100 block of Main Street on September 14, 1937 with Jack Benny in “Artists and Models”. It had a seating capacity of 450. The theatre had to be renovated after a fire in 1947, and in the interim movies were shown in an adjacent parking lot. The Mecca Theatre reopened in 1948 with 600 seats.
