Theater

This theater appears on the 1921 Sanborn. It was located on the second floor of the city hall/post office building, which had been constructed in 1902. The theater is not shown on the 1913 map, and Chase City does not appear in the 1914-15 AMPD.

Later maps are not available online. It’s possible that this was the 600 seat Cozy Theater listed in the 1926 Yearbook. The building today is in very poor condition, and vacant. A cheap new roof installed by 2018 destroyed a lot of the character.
