A Photo I took of the back of the screen back in April of 2010…

Another photo from the ShowTown Drive In. This is/was the snack bar/projection booth from what I could tell.. My understanding is that a Church organization has bought the land and the drive in was to be razed..

Approx. address for this drive-in was 2001 North Bolton Avenue. The entrance, the side exit, the projection booths, the concession & 1 of the screens are still there after all these years!
This opened on August 3rd, 1967. Grand opening ad in photo section.
Actually, it appears that both screens, although heavily damaged, are still standing.
Opened on 3/8/1967 on the west screen with “The war wagon” and “The ghost and Mr Chicken” and on the east screen with “Devil’s angels” and “Dr Goldfoot & the girl bombs”.
This has been a twin-screen Gulf States drive-in throughout its entire life. The Showtown closed on July 3, 1983 and the theater went up on sale the following month.
From Google Street View of 2025, the marquee and both screens are still standing. From overhead, you can see the foundation of the projection booth/concession stand.
In addition, you can see remnants of the entrance and exit roads. The address points to the exit road. The entrance road is next to the marquee which is further to the southeast.
