The Coliseum 4 was located next to the Sheraton Hotel and opened December 22, 1972. It was operated by AMC in the early-1980’s. It was closed in September 1997. It was demolished sometime between 2019-2021.

better copy of the December 22nd, 1972 grand opening ad in the photo section.
An article in the August 26, 2001 edition of the Newport News Daily Press about the state of local movie theaters cited that this theater closed in September of 1997.
This theater, along with the former Sheraton (later a Quality Inn) has been demolished. Based on history on a certain famous mapping site, it was torn down between 2019 and 2021.
