The Haida Theatre reopened as the Plaza Theatre May 2, 1936, coming under Odeon ownership shortly afterward. It closed around 1965 and later reopened as the Haida Theatre. It closed again in 1992 screening Patrick Swayze in “City of Joy. The closure was due to structural problems and was later demolished.

This photo, from the Puget Sound Theatre Organ Society shows this theatre as the Plaza in 1946, with the Dominion next door and the Capitol across the street.
Here’s another shot of the Haida (as the Plaza), along with the Dominion, taken probably around the early 1950s.
This reopened as the Plaza on May 2nd, 1936. Ad posted.
Closed in 1992. Last movie was CITY OF JOY starring Patrick Swayze.
The specific closure date for the Haida was May 12, 1992 as a result of the discovery of structural problems with the theatre’s roof, which would have made it vulnerable to collapse due to either heavy snowfall or an earthquake.
