The Roxy Theatre was run by the Caprice Showcase circuit from it opening on July 29, 1983 with “Jaws 3-D” presented in 3D. The single-screen venue, which seated 340 and was located in the Long Lake Plaza strip mall, ran first-run features for most of its operation, then switched to second-run discount fare after the Caprice Grand 8 (now the Galaxy Cinemas Nanaimo) opened at nearby Rutherford Mall in May 1999.
The Roxy Theatre closed in 2000 and was later used as meeting space for a church, then was renovated for retail use.
