The Strand Theatre was opened in early-January 1935. It could accommodate 405 patrons. It was owned by Mr. James Heard who had theatres throughout Southwestern Louisiana. The theatre closed in the mid-1960’s. The building is now occupied by the Southwestern Louisiana Vet. Clinic.
