The Crest Theatre opened on April 2, 1948 with John Garfield in “Body and Soul” & Frances Rafferty in “The Adventures of Don Coyote”. It was closed September 23, 1951 due to competition from the Daly City Theatre and the new Serra Theatre, plus the booking of less than stellar product, the theatre apparently never did well.

For many years, it has housed an auto body shop, operated by the Cisneros family, who renovated the building for their own use. If one looks carefully, there are still many traces of its life as a theatre on both the exterior and interior.
