Showcase Cinemas 1&2 opened December 28, 1979, in the Huron Mall with “The Black Hole” and “The Prize Fighter”.

The operator was State Theater, Corp., described in the Daily Plainsman as having 14 locations in Huron, Pierre, the Fargo Moorhead area, and Fairmont, Minnesota.

The Showcase Cinema closed May 6, 1982, and in 1993 the floor was leveled and converted into a teen center and later commercial uses.
