Located in the Wilmington Plaza Shopping Center. Chakeres Theaters Inc. opened the Plaza Twin on February 1, 1985 with Clint Eastwood in “City Heat” and Roy Scheider in “2010: The Year We Make Contact”. Each screen had 300-seats. It closed on July 8, 1993 with Sam Neill in “Jurassic Park” & Arnold Schwarzenegger in “Last Action Hero”.
The Wilmington Plaza Cinema 5 opened on July 9, 1993 (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures).

Actual closing date is July 8, 1993 with “Jurassic Park” in Screen 1 and “Last Action Hero” in Screen 2. The nearby five-screener would later open the following day.
