A photo in the August 6, 1982 edition of the Yucca Valley Hi-Desert Star reported that the “Encore Cinema is now open in the Stater Brothers Center in Yucca Valley. Owners Paul and Collen Rich plan to show some great movies of the past, as well as some recent favorites”. The Encore Theatre was opened on on August 4, 1962 with Gene Kelly in “Singing in the Rain” & Lupe Velez in “Stardust”.
The Encore Cinema stopped appearing in the newspaper in early-1983.
