1960s post card photo

Opened on June 26, 1935 with 300-seats on the main floor and a small balcony of 15 seats. From the early-1960-s until it closed, it was operated by William L. Tamblyn (operator of the Brockway Theatre, Squaw Valley Theatre and Donner Theatre in Truckee. The theatre was an all wood strip building flanked by a food market and a curios shop and drug store on what is now Kings Beach State Park. It closed in 1970 and was demolished. The projection and sound equipment was removed and later installed in the new Cobblestone Cinema in Tahoe City. I ran the projectors the last summer it operated.
