Moore’s Opera House was open by January 1910 with moving pictures and illustrated songs.
In 1912 the Porterville Recorder opinionated that Moore’s had outgrown its capacity, and a new building was not out of the question.
On October 10, 1914, the Gaiety Theatre, A.R. Moore Proprietor, opened across the street from the vacant opera house.
Another Porterville theater on Mill Street, number unknown, was the Novelty Theatre, which opened in 1910.
