The Strand Theatre launched in 1922 and closed on March 22, 1937 with Joan Crawford in “The Last Of Mrs. Cheney” along with an unnamed color short and Paramount News. Walter O. Lower closed the Strand Theatre when the owner opened his then-new Lake Theatre nearby (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures).
