The Jackson, Mississippi Clarion-Ledger for Friday, February 15, 1929, page 2 reported the total loss of the new State Theatre, at the corner of E. Troy Street and S. Broadway Street, Tupelo on the previous day.

“The building was a magnificent new structure, having only recently been completed…being the largest building in the city. It occupied half a city block and was the property of C. M. Moore and G. A. Gregory.”
